Our master sculptor carves ethnic Akan symbols (Adinkra Symbols) and Africa wild animals to bring out the meaning of the Djembe
Rings Applications Our Master wielder measures every shall/frame to make sure each ring he produce fit an individual shell/frame during production.
Application of cloth on to the rings
Cloth are applied to the rings to expend long life of the animal skin as well as the weaving/pegging ropes.
Application of the weaving/pegging rope
This is done to enable the up ring with the pegs/weave to hold the inner rings that is covered with animal skin to stay and hold for tuning.
Fixing of skin Animal Skin are fixed and pulled for the first time, for sun drying.
Drying of the Skin The djmebe are put under the natural sun for 4 -10days for the skins on top of the Djembe head to be well dried. After the Djembe is well dried it is kept in a room for the tension that took place when drying the skin to settle down before pulling/tuning
Removal of the hair/hide
The hair/hide of the skins are remove from the head of the Djembe to ensure sound quality when pulling/tuning.
Pulling/Tuning
This is the final stage of Djembe making, here the Djembe is pulled or tuned to get the preferred sound.
Packaging
Packing is the most important aspect of protection during transportation, we package based on our customers request either by using Djembe bags or carton boxes
Loading of a container
During export we load and arrange the Djembe in the container together with dry bags to prevent moisture from damaging the Djembe either by cartons boxes or Djembe bags or without both (necked Djembe).
